Who is PAMSA for? PAMSA is for anyone interested in healthcare, Pakistan, or both! Anyone's free to join our community. Even if you're not within medicine, our campaigns are much broader and incorporate public health as a whole.

icon

I'm not Pakistani, can I join PAMSA? Of course! Inclusivity is one of our number 1 principles ever since we conceptualised PAMSA. This is one of the reasons we opt for a sleek, professional look in order to appeal to all.

Is joining PAMSA free? Yes.

Mentorship scheme

icon

How does the mentorship scheme work? Our mentorship scheme is a great opportunity for students to gain valuable insight from doctors, build their CVs and possibly take part in some audits/QI projects. It entails a group of around 4 mentees matched to a suitable mentor with each group meeting a minimum of 6 times over a course of 4 months. Sessions can be based on any topic the mentees choose but examples will be provided on common topics, along with other advice in a guide, to help mentors. For mentors, this scheme will help to develop your CV and improve your applications for higher training posts.

icon

Are there set cycles you run the mentorship scheme for? Have I missed the last cycle? We tend to create groups on a rolling basis, whenever a suitable mentor signs up who we think would be great for a group of 2-4 students. For this reason, you may not be immediately allocated as soon as you sign up, so please do not worry!

icon

Can I drop out? We're an easy going bunch here at PAMSA, and we know life just gets in the way sometimes. It's all good, but if you're a mentor then please do try and let us know 2 weeks in advance so we can reallocate your mentees.

icon

Can I be at any stage of my training to sign up as a mentor? Yes. Depending on what stage you're at, we'll match you up with either younger students or those who are in the later years and will soon graduate.

I'm a medical student living outside of the UK. Can I join the mentorship scheme? The mentorship scheme is very closely aligned to the system here in the UK. However, we appreciate many of you will be from outside the UK, so we are working on something for you too very soon!

What is Nera? Nera is a new tool which allows for setting up your own online platform to deliver video services. This has all the booking software and video calling software built in and also allows for personal branding to give it our PAMSA touch. We use this for our #PAMSAmentorship scheme.
